Keeping Your Cat Happy & Healthy!
September is Happy Healthy Cat Month, let’s show our furry companions some love! In this blog we’ll share some tips on how to keep your cat happy AND healthy for all of their years to come!
Regular Vet Visits
Keeping up with vet visits is the best way to keep your pet healthy! If you have an anxious cat, consider researching a cat-focused & cat friendly vet in your area. Regular vet visits will ensure there are no surprised to your pet’s health. “And of course, if your cat seems sick or you notice any changes to appetite, litter box use or activity, it's always best to consult your vet.” (1)
Nutrition and Water
Keeping your cat happy starts with health on the inside! Make sure your cat’s diet is balanced and they are getting the right nutrition. Not sure where to start? Try LICKS Cat Multi-Vitamin! Just add one packet on top of their regular food once per day, and it will help to supplement their nutritional needs. Along with nutrition, make sure your cat has a constant supply of clean water. If you aren’t able to replace their water bowls with fresh water daily, consider a cat water fountain like this moving water fountain.
Daily Movement
Daily exercise is KEY for your cat’s overall health and happiness! If you have a second cat or a dog at home, your cat may get plenty of stimulation and movement by playing with them in the house. If you do not, try prioritizing daily playtime with your cat using a feather toy, a laser pointer, or a simple sting or shoelace! If you do not have time to engage your cat in playtime, consider searching for stimulating toys for them to use when you are not around. Treat filled toys and a scratching post are some easy ways to keep your cat engaged and stimulated!
